Background:

Roy had an impressive professional playing career that included Arcadia Shepards, South Africa, F.C. Twente, The Netherlands, and The Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. Prior to playing professionally, Roy represented South Africa at the U12, U14, and U16 age groups, winning the 1977 South African Cup and was also awarded the Rookie of Year that season. In 1980, Roy helped the Strikers get to the NASL Soccer bowl finals. Roy has been coaching for more than 20 years, and currently holds a NSCAA “A” License. Roy coached Westminster Christian High School as he wound down his playing career, taking the team to the State Finals two out of three years. Once totally dedicated to coaching, Roy moved on to the College of Boca Raton where he was the Athletic Director, and his team won the National Championship in 1987 & 1989. He was awarded National Coach of the year in 1987, accumulating District and Regional titles for all of the years at Boca. After winning the National championship for the second time, Roy began coaching professional teams. He was the General Manager and Coach for the Montreal Supra FC and Toronto Blizzard FC. He was awarded the Canadian Soccer League Coach and General Manager of the year in 1990. After coaching professionally, Roy began working with youth programs. He was the Director of Soccer Operations for the Boca Raton Soccer Association and currently has the same title with the Trevian Soccer Club and FC United. Roy has also developed soccer academies as President of the Boca Raton Soccer Academy and currently, the Kicker Soccer Academy.
